David Hewitson, Fenix Director of Operations, delivered an outreach workshop on quality management to several mine action authorities from across South East Asia.

The workshop focused on what IMAS compliance means in the context of a national or organisational quality management system (QMS).  Group work sessions focused on identifying specific requirements and recommendations found in IMAS 07.12 (Quality management in mine action) and IMAS 07.40 (Monitoring of mine action organisations).

Fenix made use of its own IMAS compliance database to help filter ‘shall’ and ‘should’ statements from the IMAS text, providing workshop participants with check lists to support their own self-assessments exercises.
